Christmas Eve

It’s our first christmas with our daughter Zoe.  My sister is flying in from Philly this afternoon, and a couple of college friends are coming over with their daughter for dinner.  We are all from the New Orleans area originally, and have known each other for many years.  The effect is that this feels like the first famly christmas in a very long time.  Unfortunately, my folks decided not to make the trip down – the airlines have nearly tripled the cost of flying in from NOLA (tis the season!).  That will be the one dark spot on the day, but as I begin preparing for the meal this morning, I have high hopes.  Here’s the menu:

  • Cheese & Fruit Hors D’oeuvres
  • Shrimp Cocktail Appetizer
  • Carrot Soup
  • Roasted Turkey with Giblet Gravy
  • Artichoke Casserole
  • Corn Pudding
  • Chocolate Cake

The wine desreves it’s own listing:

  • Conde de Valdemar 2001 Tempranillo Crianza Rioja
  • David Bruce 2002 Santa Clara County Cabernet Sauvignon
  • David Bruce 2002 Central Coast Petite Syrah

Cheers & Happy Holidays!
